There is a website which sells tank lifts for just about all models of HD. They even sell them for around $50. Not a bad price at all for
a custom part. It wasnt that I was being cheap why I decided to make my own, it was that I enjoy doing things like this. THis definately seemed
like a semi challenging yet simple mod to do. The result is awsome. If anyone is considering doing this, its not that hard. Takes alot of measuring and
trial and error. Make sure you can turn your bars full left and right without banging the tank. That was a limitation for the height of the lift. I think I went as high as I could go
without touching the tank.
Start by taking some basic measurements.
Cut the raw pieces of steel.
I made a jig to assist in welding the parts together.
A custom cut to accomidate the fit.
After the primer I laid down some gloss black to try and match the frame.
